The Orange County Fair is accepting entries for their home wine competition through May 24. If you are entering your wines and haven’t found a way to ship your entries to the competition, this may be an option.
Amador Shipping in Mt. Aukum can ship wines in 1,2,3,4,6,9, and 12-packs for about $23 for a 1-pack and $36 for a 12-pack. If we bundle entries together, we can save on shipping.
To determine the shipping cost per bottle, we need a firm commitment from Club members who want to participate in this shipping option. Once we get a non-negotiable number of entries, shipping costs per bottle can be determined.
We seek a Club member to volunteer to be the drop-off location (receive registered entries and collect the entry fees) from May 7-11.
Donna Bettencourt offers to drive entries to Amador Shipping on May 13. Amador Shipping would then ship the entries to Orange County Fair by May 16 allowing a 1-week shipping period arriving by May 24.
Shipping examples: #1 – if there are a total of 12 entries, entries would be shipped in a 12-pack costing about $3 shipping per bottle. #2 – if there are 13 entries, it would cost $36 for a 12-pack plus $23 for a 1-pack for an estimated cost of $4.55 bottle. To be fair to all entering, please follow through with the number of entries you commit to.
