Meeting program. Harvest is just a few months away and many of us are sourcing grapes for the upcoming vintage. At the April 16th meeting Andy Standeven, co-owner of Shaker Ridge Vineyards in El Dorado County, takes us on a deep dive to ensure we source quality grapes and determine the best time to harvest.
Tasting Table. If you have a wine that you would like informal feedback on, bring a bottle to the meeting with only vintage and variety identified on the bottle, (no name). Check in your bottle with Sue Nemeth who will be standing by the Tasting Table. Before and after the meeting members can anonymously provide written feedback on your anonymous wine. As you leave for the evening, remember to pick up your wine bottle and the written comments.
SHW Jubilee Entries. Joe Morgan will be accepting your Jubilee wine and label competitions entries in the Turn Verein’s back parking lot before the meeting starting at 6:30 pm. If arriving after 7:00 pm do not bring your wines upstairs. Instead, talk with Joe at the meeting so that the exchange can take place downstairs after the meeting.
Wine entry details can be found here. Label entry details can be found here. Picnic details forthcoming.
The April 16th meeting begins at 7:00 pm upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street, Sacramento. The front doors open at 6:30 pm. Bring your wine glass and an optional bottle to share.
Your assistance in helping set up and cleaning up before and after the meeting is appreciated. Please enjoy responsibly.
