A message from President Marco Sguazzin

Recently, we have had an influx of email phishing and scamming attempts targeting Sacramento Home Winemakers members.

Currently, there are many different phishing schemes going around asking members to make financial transactions, purchases on behalf of the sender, and even to make changes to the website. These emails are sent to appear as though they are coming from Board Members, which they are not.

Some of the most recent scam emails have come with subject lines such as “Quick answer” or “Plead for” and have suspicious grammar in the body of the email. They are requesting assistance in setting up Zelle or Venmo.

As a reminder to everyone, please use caution with any unexpected requests that come from or appear to come from a SHW club member. If you receive one of the emails with the subject line examples above, delete the email without opening.
