Whew! It’s finally beginning to feel like autumn!

Learn to pair holiday foods with wine. Our October 16 meeting guest speaker is Roxanne O’Brien who is a food and wine / spirits educator, caterer, and a certified sherry expert. Roxanne is a retired faculty at American River College’s culinary arts program and continues to educate all with food and drink pairings through her wine, cheese, honey, and chocolate tastings.

Roxanne will guide us through wine pairings with foods that have a high probability of showing up at a gathering soon. Cheese? Check. Something with pumpkin? Roxanne’s got you covered. Plus, Roxanne can answer any of your holiday food and wine pairing questions.

Thanks to those members who have already RSVPed. To ensure that we have enough sample food bites and wine for all, please let us know that you’re planning to attend the meeting. Do so by texting or emailing Gin:

  • Make your reservation by Sunday October 13
  • Leave your name with the number of people attending
  • Gin’s email: ginyangstaehlin@yahoo.com
  • Gin’s cell: 916 217-0294 (please text)

Bring a wine glass for your use. Please enjoy your dinner before the meeting but leave a little space for a savory bite and a little something sweet.

The meeting starts at 7 pm upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street in Sacramento. Your help in setting up and cleaning up is appreciated. Enjoy responsibly. Please help keep everyone healthy.

Placer County Wine and Grape Association Wine Competition: for your convenience Jim Allen will be at the meeting to accept your entries. See here for the competition rules and entry details.
