January 15 meeting. Wake up your taste buds! Wines from eastern and central Europe are different and interesting and can spawn evening-long conversations. Come to SHW’s January 15 meeting and learn about them. The evening’s guest speaker is Eric Danch with Danch and Granger, a company that imports central and eastern European wines. Eric will be sharing the vast area’s wine making history, talk about cultivars specific to the regions, plus we’ll be tasting a few of the wines imported by Eric.
Tasting Table. The Tasting Table is back at the January meeting. What’s the Tasting Table? Members anonymously bring a bottle of wine and meeting attendees anonymously provide written feedback. If bringing a bottle, please just label it with the varietal / blend and vintage. No names or identifiers. Find Donna Bettencourt who will be waiting for you at the Tasting Table near the name badges. Before and after the meeting, members will taste the wines on the table and provide written responses. When you’re ready to leave the meeting, pick up your bottle and the written feedback. You can bring in wine that’s still ageing in the bottle, or a new wine that isn’t yet sure that it wants to be.
February 19 Meeting. Please note that SHW’s February 19 meeting is the evaluation of members’ new (2024) white and rosé wines. A more formal evaluation will be discussed by a guest evaluator at the later meeting.
2025 Membership. Haven’t yet renewed your dues for 2025? Click on this link to renew on-line or you can download the form and bring it with payment to the next meeting. Contact Membership Chair Tammy Cross at lkcross@aol.com with membership questions.
