April 16 Meeting – Recognizing and Sourcing Quality Wine Grapes

SHW members Andy and Elizabeth Standeven have been farming wine grapes commercially for over 25 years. Wines made with grapes from their El Dorado Shaker Ridge Vineyard has won many awards both commercially and by home wine makers.

At the Club’s April 16 meeting, Andy educates us on the things we should be looking for when sourcing grapes. Yes, it’s beyond what the refractometer tells us.

We’ll also be accepting SHW Jubilee wine competition entries from 6:30 – 7 p.m. in the parking lot before the meeting. If arriving after 7 p.m., please do not bring your entries upstairs but make arrangements with the cellar masters to accept your entries downstairs after the meeting. See here for entry details.
