CCOF certified organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah wine grapes for sale. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel vineyards were planted in 1990. The older block of Petite Sirah was planted in 2000. The young block of Petite Sirah was planted in 2017.
My vineyard is between 800 to 850 feet in elevation located on the eastern high bench of Redwood Valley, so it gets full afternoon sun. The high daytime temperatures contribute to sugar (Brix) development. The low nighttime temperatures, often 40 to 50 degrees cooler than during the day, tends to bring the acids in the fruit into balance with the sugar content. The higher acids of coastal county red vineyards are highly sought after by Sacramento and San Joaquin valley wineries to add depth and complexity to the lower acidity of their wines. Red wine varieties grown in Mendocino County, and in Redwood Valley in particular, generally make excellent full bodied, fruit forward, complex wines. I made wine from my vineyard for over 20 years and sold the bulk wine to high end wineries all over Northern California.
Price per ton: $2,200 for Cabernet Sauvignon:; $2,100 for Zinfandel; and $2,000 for Petite Sirah depending on the services requested by the buyer. No minimum.
Grower writes: we have a crusher destemmer on site. We host home winemakers who come, pick their own grapes. They can either take the grapes home in their own boxes or we can crush them and they can take the must home in their bottles, barrels or plastic containers. Some groups like to come for the weekend and stay at the local casino/hotel. We can provide them with the contact numbers for the hotels.
