Over 90 SHW members and guests enjoyed a festive evening of wine, friends, and lively conversation. There were a few quiet moments when we recognized those who made significant contributions to the club, and celebrated members for their winemaking accomplishments.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Board Chairperson Donna Bettencourt announced the Club’s annual awards and recipients:
- Bob Beck Educator of the Year Award – Nancy and Paul Baldwin
- Henry Wilkinson Volunteer of the Year Award – Nancy Berge and Kristin Lemay (2 awardees)
- Stu Shafer Most Improved Winemaker Award – Scott Elliott
- Rookie of the Year Award – Scott Carpenter
- Community Partner Award – InAlliance
- President’s Award – Kevin Lemay, President 2022 – 2023

SHW’s leadership team carefully administers the Club’s annual budget so formal fundraising efforts are few. The Silent Auction and Raffle at the Holiday Party is the Club’s largest and most visible fundraiser, and this year the fundraising effort raised over $5,500 (preliminary numbers).
The magic doesn’t happen without our members and guests. Your generosity is appreciated in the continued support you provide – donations, acquisitions, and volunteerism. Many thanks to Holiday Party Coordinator Kristin Lemay and Fundraising Coordinator Heather Rodgers and their teams who made this event successful and fun!
